XL establishes the lineup with the standard 6.8L V8, an 8-inch touchscreen, Built Ford Tough® trailer hitch receiver, Trailer Sway Control, and durable cabin materials designed for demanding work environments. XLT expands comfort and versatility with upgraded interior materials, additional connectivity and convenience equipment, and enhanced driver-assistance technology. Lariat moves decisively upscale with heated and ventilated ActiveX® front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 12-inch productivity screen, SYNC® 4 technology, and additional towing features. King Ranch® introduces distinctive Western-inspired luxury through Kingsville leather upholstery, genuine wood trim, power-deployable running boards, a Head-Up Display, 14-speaker B&O® Unleashed audio, Pro Trailer Backup Assist™, and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist™. Platinum crowns the range with multi-contour leather seating, premium cabin finishes, LED projector headlamps, exclusive exterior details, and Onboard Scales with Smart Hitch.

The standard 6.8L V8 produces 405 hp and 445 lbs. ft. of torque, while the available 7.3L V8 increases output to 430 hp and 485 lbs. ft. of torque. Ford also offers the 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel V8 and its High-Output counterpart. The High-Output Power Stroke® generates 500 hp and 1,200 lbs. ft. of torque. The engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, including the TorqShift®-G unit with the 6.8L V8.

Properly configured F-250 models can tow up to 22,000 lbs. conventionally, while fifth-wheel towing capacity reaches 23,000 lbs. The high-strength steel frame provides the foundation for these substantial loads, complemented by available electronic shift-on-the-fly 4WD and selectable drive modes.
